THE CONSTITUTION OF ASAFA



DESCRIPTION

African Student Association of Faculty of Agriculture (ASAFA) Is an organization of all African students that is governed by the faculty of Agriculture.

MOTTO

Education and culture diversity

MISSSION STATEMENT

Unity and culture embracement that transcends to international boarders towards the creation of a better continent

AIM

The main aim of the organization is to unite students in and out of the agriculture faculty as well as to embrace the diversity of cultures among members.

OBJECTIVES

.To create a social atmosphere that will almost avoid desperacy in unfortunate incidents

.To coordinates African students in the faculty to the administration

.To create a social and academicals network of the students in the faculty with other students in other faculties

.To stand on behalf of student body as a representative

.To act as a disciplinary body over student affairs

MEMBERSHIP AND MEMBERSHIP FEE

.All African student in the faculty of agriculture are eligible as full members, student from other faculties can join as associate members provided they meet the requirements of the organization

.A fee of filthy pounds per semester will be required to be paid by every member before you are accepted as a member and a subscription fee of three pounds that will be used to boost up the activities of the organization

.The members are free to leave the organization with a non refundable membership fee

Violation or any abuse of the constitution shall also lead to members loosing their membership

.Members who shall absent themselves on organization meetings for over 25%of the meetings with no concrete reasons shall be dismissed after three times of discipline with no change

.Members can appeal if not satisfied with the dismissal reasons and may after being accepted back they are to repay the organization membership fee

POSITIONS IN THE ORGANISATION

The organization has the following positions that can be competed for during elections.

-T he Chairman

-The Vice Chairman

-The General Secretary

-The Finance director

-The director of culture and education

-The director of sports and recreation

-The publicity secretary

DUTIES

1. The chairman: is to provide leadership and oversee as well as monitor all other organization sectors and also to act as the decision maker

2. The vice chairman: is to assist the chairperson in making decisions and monitoring all organization sectors

3. The general secretary: is to capture minutes of all meetings, proceedings of the organization and is to sign on incoming and outgoing documents of the organization, the general secretary also is to act as head of disciplinary issues and is to keep all

4. The finance manager: is to manage all expenses and earnings of the organization and to give an annual report.

5. The sports and recreation director: is to organize and all sporting and entertainment activities for the members

6.The education and culture director: is to welcome new students and set them ready for orientation with the nominated members assistance and also to organize festivals and culture activities

7.The publicity secretary: is to publicize the organisationa and the activities taking place within and outside the organization that will involve the members to participate

PROCEDURE OF ELECTIONS

.All positions shall be declared vacant a month prior to elections

.A registration fee of five pounds shall be ordered to those aspiring to contest in the elections

.All members are eligible of voting to the person of their choice without being forced and regardless of their nationality

.Associate members are accepted to contest in elections if and only if two third (2/3) of the members agree and accept it

.Election committee shall be chosen before election campaign begins

.Results of the elections shall be revealed the same day of elections and no appeals accepted

.Handover ceremony shall take place a week after elections

TERMS OF OFFICE

.A person is allowed to carry two terms of leadership approved by election results

.A term comprise of one academic year

RULES

.Respect to the chairman and the entire cabinet is inevitable

.Ethical standards should be observed

.Use of proper communication channels is to be practiced by all

.Arrogance of filthy behavior is condoned

.There is need of co-operation upon the arising of any need

.Order during meetings is inevitable

Another College Marathon!


As the director of Sports and entertainment ,i would like to inform you of another sports event organised by our faculty.Its another marathon from Saba Pasha tunnel to Wafedein office, approximately five kilometres.It will take place on the 6 March.

Everyone is welcome,and your participation will be highly appreciated.
